Cold Iron is seeking a Senior Sound Designer to join us. This position is fully remote and open to applicants across the US and Canada.

Core Responsibilities
- Implement and author interactive, real-time sound using middleware, scripting tools and/or in-engine to bring soundscapes to life.
- Work closely with the audio director and audio team to build, debug, and maintain effective audio systems that support the experiential and narrative pillars of our game
- Problem-solve and devise creative solutions to complex challenges that can arise within interactive audio
- Edit and implement a wide range of high-quality sound assets
- Perform audio playtests, performance profiling, bug-fixing and optimization
- Contribute as a key stakeholder in designing and managing sound prioritization systems
- Collaborate with audio engineers, other sound designers and departments to design and document audio systems, own and deliver on audio features.
Our Ideal Candidate Possesses
- 5+ years of professional experience in AAA game audio with a minimum of one AAA title shipped as Sound Designer or equivalent.
- Expertise with Unreal Engine (including Blueprint) and Wwise and ideally the Wwise/Unreal integration
- Experience creating and optimizing UE Blueprints
- Proven experience with the Wwise middleware tool
- Understanding of, and experience in creating and authoring real-time, parameter-controlled sounds such as vehicle engines, weather systems, ambiences.
- Solid understanding of spatial audio concepts in gaming and related technologies
- Proven capability in sound design and content creation
- Adaptive growth mindset and a passion for solving complex problems with other people
- Advanced profiling experience in middleware to identify and troubleshoot audio issues
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining interactive music systems
- Experience designing and implementing modern weapon audio systems and hierarchies in Wwise
- Experience working on environmental audio, sound propagation and 3D audio
- Experience with dialogue/VO editing, mastering, and implementation
